The signing of 6’11 Chris Uhle with the Saitama Broncos of the BJ-League in Japan was one of the recent bright spots that turned dark when Uhle suddenly passed in his sleep on 8/19. Uhle had come to Atlanta to polish his game in preparation for an arduous BJ-League schedule and was set to leave the country on 8/24 in route to the Far East. Accompanied by his father, who was with him at the time of passing, Chris had shown tremendous improvement in a short time under the helm of pro trainer Markeal King. “I was completely shocked and distraught” said CEO Jerone Dodd, who also worked directly with Uhle. “I thought we were going to meet in the morning and have a film session, then I got the word that he was in the hospital. I never would have imagined that he had already passed or that there was even anything serious going on.”
Chris is survived by his parents Craig and Alisa Uhle as well as his sister. “My heart goes out to the family, they are good people and definitely didn’t deserve this, but we can only pray that it brings everyone closer in a celebration of Chris’ life.” Chris was a Rollins College standout and hailed from Bradenton, Florida.
