Brian Moultrie (6’6”-C/F-87, college: Armstr.Atlantic) stepped up with 34 points and 15 boards to pace the Matrix to the trophy. The teams stayed neck and neck throughout the first half. The Prime eked out a 23:22 lead after the starting quarter.
They ensured a 46:44 halftime lead. But things changed drastically in the second part of the clash. The Matrix went off the dressing room all charged up. They poured in 27 points in the third quarter to gain a 4-point advantage before the fourth period. GIE Maile Matrix exploded with 33 points in the final stanza and sealed the winning outcome. Evan Ravenel (6’8”-F-89, college: Ohio St.) finished with 22 points and 13 boards, while Quin Humphrey (6’5”-G/F-84, college: Youngstown St.) added 16 points for the winners. Derrick Allen (6’5”-G/F-85, college: Valdosta St.) responded with 18 points for the Prime. Mike Crain (6’2”-G-84, agency: Dynasty Sports, college: Valdosta St.) and Jon Rogers (6’9”-C-84, college: Valdosta St.) had 16 points each in the losing effort.
