First Round Pick, LLC, a UPG client and partner, has just announced that the Grand Opening for Washington High School’s new Athletic Training Department, will be serviced by FRP’s Injury Resolved umbrella. This will forge a partnership with the Blanks Foundation, the Atlanta Falcons, the Atlanta Falcon’s Youth Foundation, as well as Northside Hospital.
Booker T Washington High School received the multi-year Certified NFL Athletic Trainer Grant and will exemplify the commitment of the Atlanta Falcons and Northside Hospital to increase the standard of safety of young student athletes.
Falcons President and CEO, Rich Mckay, mentioned that “We couldn’t ask for a better partner than Northside Hospital in supporting a certified athletic training program that will assist student-athletes and their parents in injury prevention, maintenance, evaluation and aid in return to play timelines. Booker T. Washington High School will help us create a model for player safety that we hope to replicate and implement throughout high schools in Georgia.”
The Grand Opening will involve Injury Resolved’s 3-day symposium from June 8th – 10th. The IR camp has had success the last couple of years, conducting its clinics at Mceachern and Marietta High Schools.
“This is a tremendous opportunity for the Injury Resolved operation to really spread its wings and fly. The stated mission and vision of the group aligns with the goals of the Atlanta Falcons to expand this program and awareness of student-athlete safety across the state,” offered UPG CEO and FRP Executive Consultant, Jerone Dodd Jr. “We have a great team of professionals who are passionate about athletic training and student-athlete education. In this growing industry, we also hope to expose the different career opportunities to students.”
